As the reports published in TOI on 16th MAY,'On Monday ,as cascading prices of global commoditiesand market provided the triggers for investors to sell, the BSE Sensex crashed down by 463 points and closed at 11,822.On Mnday ,as domestic metal stocks werw affected by the south-bound London Metal Exchange prices,BSE's metal indax closed nearly 11% lower. But majority of following reasons are there.

(1)Margin calls at lower levels aggravated selling late in the session.

(2)Fears the higher oil prices, higher interest rete could dent corporate profitability.

(3)Commodity prices across the globe fell due to increase in US intrest rate that in turn is expected to slow down the economy and hence lead to lower demand for commodities.
