  1. Canada was still good friends with England who was a fierce fighter in this war and when they saw their brothers from across the sea fighting they wanted to make sure they offered their help.

Master B you're thinking of WWII. in the first world war, Japan was an ally against Germany.

  2. basically, it was an ally and a dominion of Great Britain. it was also however because they wanted to use it as a chance to create stronger bonds between the uk and usa. canadian prime minister borden was terrified that if the usa went to war on germanys side, they would attack canada, as part of the enemy, so any opportunity they took to create a strong alliance

  3. Because the were an ally of Utah.

(Reason #9462 why you don't ask for homework help on Y!A.)

  4. That Canada was automatically at war when Britain was at war in 1914 was unquestioned as from coast to coast, in a spirit of almost unbelievable unanimity, Canadians pledged support for the Motherland. Sir Wilfred Laurier spoke for the majority of Canadians when he proclaimed: "It is our duty to let Great Britain know and to let the friends and toes of Great Britain know that there is in Canada but one mind and one heart and that all Canadians are behind the Mother Country." Prime Minister Robert Borden, calling for a supreme national effort, offered Canadian assistance to Great Britain. The offer was accepted, and immediately orders were given for the mobilization of an expeditionary force.

  5. Let's put it this way. Germany and Japan were invading countries and trying to take over the world. In addition Japan and Germany declared war on the USA. With that in mind and the fact that both Europe was threatened by Germany and Asia was threatened with Japan, push would come to shove that sooner of later, Canada would be on the chopping block too.

Another way this can be put is, if Germany or Japan would have won the war, you would be writing now in German or Japanese or have been dead now.

In addition, Canada would not have to debate about biligular English or French in their country. They would be dictated to speak German or Japanese.

    Hope this answers your question.

  6. Canada was the first nation to back Britain's call to war.

Because Canada is a Commonwealth Nation there were ties to Britain...

and GRAND MASTER B... PLEASE get your wars and enemies right .. Japan was NOT AN ENEMY in World War ONE... infact Japan was an ally.
