I don't really see why we needed to, did it have to do with weather and climate? I think the world would have been better off had we stayed cavemen.

  1. We are programmed (psychology, human nature, instinct) to find information that advances us.  That is why we ask questions of each other just as you are doing with this question.

  3. Once a man figured out how to make and shoot the bow and arrow, do you think he would go back to throwing rocks or spears?  You can't stop progress.  The world would be better off if we were still primitive, but you have to accept reality.

  4. As I've been taken to task for detailed answers....<G>

Neanderthals DNA show they weren't related to modern humans. Modern humans replaced them.

The ending of the ice age likely had much to do with their decline. Modern humans are agile and slender. They quickly inhabited the tundra that appeared at the end of the ice age. Neandertals are stocky and not built for speed. They remained in the isolated forests that became smaller and then disappeared

  5. As far as known homo sapiens did not evolve from neanderthal species. They coexisted for a while.
