I am fully aware that this may be the stupidest question but I seriously curious.

We evolve to adapt to our environment for survival? So why did we evolve into different races. There has to be a purpose, right?

Black people are taller, East Asia are shorter, Skin color, Nose size / shape, Eye shape. I am sure you catch my drift.

  1. its funny u asked caused the tallest guy in the world rite now is asian... and yao ming is the tallest in the nba... wht an irony

  2. Proof that God has a sense of humor perhaps.

  3. cause there all decendents of ur great great grea.......x1000 great grandma and she was a w***e and she made babies diffrently by each person

  4. What you're asking isn't about races, it's about adapting to the local enviornment as Humans.

A good friend and I did a lot of emailing and research on this exact question, and we concluded that there is only one Human race, and we are variations adapted for our local enviornment, before we became more mobile and began to mix.

If we weren't all Human, our genes wouldn't be compatible and we couldn't have children. Maybe the human equivalent of mules? All the mixed kids we see are their own proof of membership in the Human Race.

If you persue history, you will know that we were all together in the beginning, then we seperated and adapted to very different enviornments for thousands of years.

Then we met up again, all still Human Beings, but with more experience.

I like to share all that rather than rejecting it...I've learned many useful lessons from other cultures, probably you have, too. If your computer is a PC...it's like a person, it can grow to be many very different things, according to its programs and tweaks. But it's still a PC.

  5. climate and living conditions over time

  6. well its because people have bodies that would adapt to their surroundings. just like animals such a giraffe, they have long necks to reach their food in the trees. its the same with humans people have different features to adapt with their surroundings, its how you survive in the world.

  7. Migration is the key and the environment where they migrated might have affected how each of them look

  8. cuz the smart ppl wanted to be cool so they turned into asians

  9. you said it yourself, to adapt to the environment. darker skin for places that has more sun, lighter skin obviously for the same reasons.

people in secluded areas bred within those areas, so all those features became normal, hence all the above stereotypes u listed.

  10. nah

  11. some say the skin color changed with the climate... people in Europe didn't need the dark skin because the sun wasn't as brutal....the rest is probably just natural selection

i think it just has to do with what our ancestors needed for survival

  12. dunno. why are you asking that question? bored? ya, me too.

  13. mayb some diseases affect certain races, like light people are more likely to get skin cancer

  14. tower of babel..everyone split up and went to live different places on earth and now we have different ethnicities

  15. Dinosaurs never evolved as humans have, their is no record of a dinosaur in prehistoric history thinking abstractly. There is also new evidence coming to light that is sparking a debate that dinosaurs did not become extinct by an impacting asteroid, there is evidence that points to a theory that dinosaurs were already on the threshold of extinction by natural order of selection. The impacting asteroid just helped it along.

You must understand that many scientists support the theory of Carl Sagan that the average life span of a species is about an average of two million years, around then, it is theorized that genetics begin to fail, and animals start to become extinct.

Humans and other earthlings are a fluke in the universal community, many scientists are baffled that we are even here and have even made it to the degree of intelligence we now have. Theoretically speaking we shouldn't even be here but we are. Many of us are ignorant of just how hostile the universe is.

How we evolved is still a great mystery, and somthing archeologists, geneticists, and scientists have been trying to piece together for decades. The fact is, is that man desended down from a great great great ancestor who resided in or around southern Ethiopia, this great grand father was the scientific Adam, every human male on Earth carry's his Y chromosone, the diverse cultures such as European, Asian and others are the result of mutations of this chromosone.

We also share this same chromosone with Orangutangs, Gorilla's and Chimpanzee's, we share it with no other creatures, which leads us to the theory of evolution where man is desendant from apes. Mind you that this evolution takes thousands of millenia, and during that time fossil remains are scattered about everywhere and many missing links have yet to be uncovered. Yet we do have a good idea of what the finished puzzle is going to look like, and it's only a matter of time before it comes into full view and we can get a first hand glimps of the big picture.

Mind you, that we all are decendents from these tribes, and the caucasian Adam as portrayed by many religions is an image of sheer fantasy. It is based on science that scientific Adam had an eastern African appearance and would look and appear as something similar to the pictures below.

  16. Its all about overtime adapting to enviromental conditions. Dark skin has more melanin in it to deal with extreme sun exposure (near the equator), light skin lost most melanin over a period of thousands of years because it was not needed by those from areas with little exposure to the sun. Its all about beings adapting to their enviroments. Over thousands, and hundreds of thousands of years the way in which people appear physically changes in small, tiny increments based on where they live. When I say "they" I am not refering to one person, but many generations.

  17. Every animal, every species is different. This is because different genetic DNA.. most changes occur from genetic diseases. It is good that there is so much variation because it allows nature to choose the best, natural selection.

  18. its about the sun where you evolved. thats why dark peopple come from hot places
