Why did i get searched at the airport?

i had a flight today from North Carolina to Louisiana when i got to the medal dectors they said i had been chosen for and extra search..they went threw all my stuff and i had to paded down..they treated me like some kinda criminal.i dont fly alot like maybe twice a year..but iv never had this happen...why did this happen

It is totally random.  I know people who travel a lot and have had it happen several times.  no big deal.

sometimes things come up on the detector so they have to make sure that your not carrying anything that you shouldnt thats all, there not trying to make you feel like a criminal,

They're just looking for your medals.

They do random searches. Sometimes you may fit a certain profile and sometimes it's just bad luck that you were "chosen" to be searched.

I wouldn't worry unless it happens all the time. Then there may be something on your file that makes them target you.
