Why did i stop breathing when i swallowed pool water?

it didnt go into my lungs or anything but its happened a few times. it wasnt like a drink. it was a weird kinda swallow but i couldnt breathe n i rly thought i was gona die. n its happened a few times

its scary!

any1 know why?

your air way closed so you wouldnt get water in your lungs. it is an automatic reflex

In reference to your details and whats-his-face's answer is that the water is going to your lungs when you swallow in the pool and when you drink you send it to the stomach.
