Question:

Why did it take another guy to realize this?

I have this guy friend, and I NEVER thought I would like him as more than a friend. Therefore, I acted really weird and "myself" around him. We ended up getting along so well, and I started liking him. (But I never admitted it to myself). I got a boyfriend, and he seemed like he was finally making it "obvious" that he likes me. Then me and that boyfriend broke up. I am now admitting that I like this guy friend. After my ex-boyfriend, I realized how WELL I get along with my guy friend, and how I can be TOTALLY myself. Does this usually happen with people? Because it seems like I was finally accepting my feelings toward my guy friend after all the arguments with my ex. Ahh. School starts soon and me and my guy friend have a class together, I'm so excited! Why did it take another guy to realize this? What should I do?!

  1. go for it. i mean sometimes girls don't act like themselves in front of guys but if this 1 likes u for  u go for it

  2. Hey, now, you've practically answered your own question.

For some people, "guy friends" are one thing, so boyfriends can't come from a pool of guy friends. It's because "guy friends" see the "you" side of you, and "boyfriends" see the "girl" side of you. Some people like it this way, while others prefer to date the ones they're already close to.

You're friends with said guy friend, but since you were just friends and it was really nice, it may not have occurred to you right away, because when you met him, it was like "FRIEND," not "BOY." Sorry if I'm not making sense...it's sort of three a.m. right now...

I guess what I'm really trying to say is that with "just friends" gender doesn't matter so much.

So you guys got along great, and you got a boyfriend, and you realized that you'd prefer someone you can be totally relaxed with over someone who you got to know with the idea of dating (I'm guessing...?) Then he realized he was jealous (?) and decided to make a point of making it obvious that he liked you. And voila! Good relationship.

So go for it! Goforit, goforit, goforit!!! He sounds great, good find! You can be happy together while being yourself! That's awesome. Good luck! Not that you'll need it ;)

  3. Go for him hun. Its super hard to find a guy that you can act yourself around and still get along. Trust me I didnt see it at first with my now husband then once I dated other guys and realized I loved him more than anything and we ended up getting married and are expecting our little girl in oct.

  4. GO FOR IT!!! woo!

the best relationships start out as friends first.

since he knows the real you he wont expect anything more or anything less than the real you which is reallly great.

they always say- a friend [or boyfriend =)] is someone who knows all about you and loves you anyway...

from what you say, it sounds like it could work!!!

    so go for  it!!!

    good luck♥

  5. You don't know what you have until you loose it!!!

You go girl - you are one of the lucky ones, you don't have to pretend to be something you are not - you don't have to impress anyone - Just be you - Great
