  1. Well if he had worked in a strip bar, maybe he would have been known as Jack the stripper.

Or if he had played football maybe he would have been known as Jack the Gipper.

Maybe if he had been a stand up comedian, he'd have been known as Jack the Quipper.

    Just messing around :)

Really, since whoever he was has never positively been identified, and he was surely never caught, there's no real way to know his motives. Nobody ever got the chance to ask!

  2. No one knows.  But it may be that he contracted a venereal disease from using the services of a prostitute, or he might have been only able to satisfy his sexual arousal by killing a prostitute or some other sexual perversion.  Most stuff written about him, and it is an assumption that Jack was a man, is fiction.  He could have simply been a pimp who wanted to eliminate the competition for his ladies.

  3. some things we'll never know for sure, i don't think they even know who "Jack The Ripper" actually was, the case was never fully solved - he just killed a load of whores then suddenly disappeared, crimes ceased (though theres other killings around that time that some people think are perhaps linked to mr. ripper), and he became one of the most infamous serial killers in world history, evil, but a legend in his own right - - the "many" things you've heard are most likely urban legends or just conspiracy theories - - one of them being that it was the queens surgeon and a freemason - - theres a good film that you may have heard of called "From h**l" - - chck it out on imdb.com, i recommend watching it - - but making myself clear, we'll never know exactly why he killed, perhaps he was simply insane in his membrane - ;)

  4. The idea that Jack was a member of, or a friend of the royal family has been around for decades.  It just might be that only one of the girls was the real target, and the rest (4) were just camouflage.

One theory was that a royal fell in love with a prostitute who was Irish (and Catholic) and had a child with her.  If the public learned that an Irish-Catholic had a claim on the English throne (albeit a distant one) then there'd be a huge scandal, so she was killed and her child went into "the system."  The royal family member was sent to the Army to serve abroad and forget the girl.

  5. Well since no one knows who he really was you can't know for certain. At first most believed it was a religious thing and that he was simply trying to rid the world of prostitutes; however, his last few victims were simply young girls, virgins. I believe he even killed one man but I can't remember for sure. I'd have to look it up. I personally believe he started with prostitutes because they were the easiest to lure. Plus if he was feeling guilty he could always justify that she deserved to die for her sin. MANY psychos through the years have seen themselves as called by God to rid the world of sin.

btw- he is credited with anywhere from 5-11 murders. No one really knows for sure. Since he was never caught he couldn't confess. Most believe it was actually 6-9 murders.

  6. [ All but one of the 5 suspected victims of Jack the Ripper were women in their forties, so they were not young girls.]

No one knows, but the savagery of the mutilation certainly suggests anger.  My opinion is that he was a man who had contracted syphilis from a prostitute and perhaps had tertiary / neurosyphilis.  You might find this link interesting http://alzheimers.about.com/od/typesofde...

In the 1880's syphilis was common and no effective treatment existed.  Winston Churchill's father - a very highly place British aristocrat - was thought to have died at age 45 of neurosyphilis (though some sources dispute this unproven diagnosis).  My guess is that the killings stopped because the murderer became too sick to continue.  He may have wound up in a hospital ward as his infectious disease progressed to cause his death. He may have been seeking revenge - blaming prostitutes for his illness rather than blaming himself.  People often prefer to blame something or someone else for their troubles.
