Why did japan start using hybrid cars back in the latter 1990s?

Long before when oil prices started their historic climb since 2003! What may have been some other reasons

  3. They aren't oil dependent *** holes, who's president is from Texas, still s******g us to this day. My *** hurts soooooo bad from my last visit to the pump...... I think I am still bleeding. So, to focus on your question better.... Japan was smart enough to not become dependant on a oil based economy and then put someone in power who's only interest is expanding his bank account. No Japan instead is owning us on every other level and laughing their way to the bank... they walk.... and laugh some more when we wonder why....
