Why did kane have Rey Mysterios mask?

I still don't understand if he wanted to know if he was dead or alive or was he talking about Rey Mysterio? Someone fill me in on why he would think Rey is dead and why he had his mask.

Kane knew adamle was gonna look in the bag so he put reys in instead of his own. ITS THAT SIMPLE. The bag tonight looked different than what it has done. No solid shape to it tonight. Reys mask is not whats really in the bag.

okay Rey mysterio is injure and he wants more pay from WWE but they say no because they are scare he might get injure again so now i think they are making a storyline that he is gone because Kane says he is dead
