While there is some evidence for the fact that Richard I and Henry II had homosexual leanings, I do not feel that this is an appropriate place to discuss the subject.

Because to indicate otherwise could lead to his being put to death, banished or mutilated.  Above all else, he had to avoid being accused of high treason.  Similarly nowadays dictators hold their people in fear. Some things don't change.
