Why did migrants come to New Zealand during the Gold Rush?

Was it to make money? Better lives? or just for the gold?

Who was mostly affected by this migration?

*This is for an assignment :-/ a board game as well so anything that could help out* maybe even some questions for the game like "Entering unseen terrain, you find <something> move ahead 5 spaces...."

  1. communication played a major role in people&#039;s decision to move to New Zealand during the gold rush. When one of the migrants would send a letter home - the family would share the letter with all their friends and sometimes the newspapers would even publish the letters. This influenced a lot of people to also migrate to New Zealand.

    I even read a story about a Scottish migrant who sent a letter home to Inverness that resulted in 120 people leaving for Victoria within a week
