Why did mother react like that in the situation?

i was watching tv show russian and i am not russian

when mother and her 7yr old daughter were taking back by the door of apartment, her ex husband appears of out elevator proning the mother to place her daughter next to her

why did she act like that u think? before her exhusband was threatening her all the time and he is not daughters father.

although i don't really understand your question,  this is what i got out of it, you were watching a russian show and a mother was talking to her daughter in the back of their apartment when her ex showed up and made her go closer to her daughter. maybe the ex wanted to take a picture... who knows?
