One day my car stereo just stopped working. I was charging a camera on my cigarette lighter, using an adapter, and the cig. lighter input started sparking for a couple secs., then quit. After that....my lighter input doesnt work and may stereo has no power to it. I was thinking it was a fuse, so I changed them all and it still doesnt work. What could it be?

  1. Did you check the fuses behind the radio? Your going to have to pull it out! Also check for any loose or burnt wires. You probably had some kind of power surge & you may have burnt up the circut board.

  2. Soes the cig plug work now that you changed the fuse? Are there any other electrical components not working (domelight...)? The radio sometimes has 2 fuses, one under the drivers side and one under the hood. there should not be a fuse behind the radio especially if it is factory. If you have replaced all fuses and everything works but the radio, you may need to replace it. Take it to a local shop to take a look at it. Good luck

  3. you blew the fuse on the radio
