  1. i`ve had a kitten die in my hands before. :( i know, it is sad. and yes, she was old enough to handle. yours could`ve been a bugbite, or maybe she ate something, like antifreeze, detergent or mothballs. because i`m sure you know about all the food restrictions right? they`re mainly the same for dogs & cats.

  2. It's very sad when that happens and only a post mortem can give the real answer.  There may have been some subtle illness or organ abnormality that you weren't aware of because cats are very good at hiding illness.

I think the most common cause of sudden death without any warning signs in cats is heart failure.  Some breeds are genetically prone to various types of cardiomyopathy (heart defects), but this can happen to randombreds too.  One moment the cat can be playing or eating and the next moment it collapses and dies.  I lost one of my cats that way; an X-ray showed her heart was abnormal.  Sometimes they die in their sleep.  Often they don't show any symptoms.

  3. Wow this is really sad I am so sorry. Umm there is not much you can do but maby it was a ceasure? Was there any out of the normal behavior for the cat the day before? Were there any scrapes or scratches on the animal? Well besides all this you really need to take the cat to the vets office. There are sirten things they can do to know. And you can have the cat made into ashes? there are still things the vet needs to know though like you are not the owner of this cat any more. you need to take the cat to the vet or at least call. you should of dome that before. I am sorry thought it is hard losing a pet.

  4. With cats you never know.  I've lost cats like that before and wonder if they were bitten by a spider, or got into something toxic.  Sorry to hear about your cat, hope you'll be ok today.

  5. It could have been anything, I am sooo sorry for your loss.

  6. A heart attack from a defect? Acute kidney failure? It doesn't matter, he' gone over the Rainbow Bridge, and when you pass, he'll be there in perfect heath, eyes bright, waiting just for your!

    Bless your baby boy.

  7. Sorry about your cat. But these things happen. It's not your fault. He'll be at the Rainbow Bridge.

  8. Oh, I am extremely sorry for you.  I would feel very heartbroken if one of my kitties died in their sleep, as they are both a little over a year and healthy, except for their fleas.  Maybe your kitty died from an aneurysm or heart ailment.  I wish I knew for sure.

  9. Aww. I'm so sorry. You might never know what happened, but isn't better for him to have died in his sleep and not suffered than die with you and him suffer?
