Why did my cat p**p on the pillow?

My baby was spayed last thursday.... things seemed to go fine with the exception of her urinating in the carrier during the 5 minute ride home... I think she was scared or maybe the anesthesia... she hid for a for a about two days...only coming out to nibble a bit... and then just yesterday she came to my bed...very affectionate, purring and wanting a lot of attention...which I gladly gave. I dont usually let her stay in the bed with me, but did last night for a few hours..

Today however, when I got home from work, I laid down and she came up on the bed and laid on the king size pillow next to me.... we both fell asleep but when I awoke I noticed she was on the other side of the pillow.... and next to me lay two turds and what appear to be a vomit stain....why did she do that?

I dont have a lot of money to spend at the vets, and initially took the cat from a home that had 12 cats, 5 dogs.... got her spayed and vaccinated...until now she hasnt really had too many problems...help!

  1. It could be that your cat is still a little angry with you about taking it to the vet and letting it get operated on. My cat has done something similar when I left it at a pet hotel and went on vacation without him. It could also be that hes not used to being in that room and got excited/nervous and just...did the deed. I would keep an eye out for anything that seems off in your cat for the next few days, if nothing else occurs, just accept it as a one time thing. Good luck!

  2. She's probably just trying to tell you something- most likely that she's not happy with the change that she just went through. If possible, keep her confined to one room (with food and water, of course) for a week or so. That way she'll have time to regulate her emotions and calm down. I think she's just trying to tell you that she needs some quiet time to get used to things. Good luck!
