Question:

Why did my college friend stop talking to me?

I was friends with my roommate for the three years. She introduced me to all her old high school friends and told them that i was her best friend in college. I was sort of her confidante and she shared with me all her problems, including her dislike for our other roommate who was also from her high school. After about a year after college, nothing much changed and she still complained a lot about the other girl since they ended up working in the same company. However, after she started seeing a new guy (which the other roommate liked before), things changed. Not only did she stop talking to me, she started being friends with that girl. I am very confused as she disliked her for so long and I was always there to listen and comfort her, i feel i deserve an answer to how things changed between them. The other girl was very competitive and it created a lot of tension between them.

I want to know whether i really deserve some sort of explanation. Do these things happen a lot in friendships? Appreciate your opinion on this. Thanks
