Why did my cupcake turn out like this?

turned out looking ok.but when i peel of the (cup) paper around it, the top of the muffin separates from the bottom.its not attached together in the middle. what could have gone wrong?

I usually blame weird stuff like that on overmixing the batter, b/c it's so easy to do and affects cakes and cupcakes a LOT!

  It's probably the amount of oil you used in this recipe, add a little more and make sure you do it after the first part of the mix is done.  If you are using a batter ready box, just make sure is completely mix before you pour it in the cups.

It sounds as though the mixture separated, more flour needed and always wait a few hours before peeling away from the paper.
