Why did my friends dad ask me if serbia was safe?

i was talking to him about how i was going there

next summer to visit family and stuff.

and he just asked me if it was safe..

was it because of iraq??

i really dont even no the reason.

help me.

he probably asked u if serbia was safe  due to the steriotypical views or opinions others have of the country. it has been riddled with war and political upheavals thruout time and history so therefore he was unsure as to how safe the place was nowadays, just july gone a new government was put in place due to controversy over european union. anyway ur friends dad was probably concerned and i dont think it has anything to do with iraq his reasoning for askinf that question.
