Why did my jury duty date, change?

It's weird. But on monday, I called to find out if I have to report for jury duty. It said report in on wedsnday at 8:30 am. But when I called on tuesday, it said that I didn't have to show up to court to do jury duty at 8:30 am. It just left a message saying, call after 6 pm on wednsday for further instructions. Did I make a huge mistake, or do jury dates change without warning.

Jury dates change due to availability of the suspect, court personnel and many other reasons.
