Why did my rabbit start thumping and growling randomly?

for no apparent reason my rabbit (tara) started thumping and growling, my mate was over but shed been over for about an hour hour and a half and we were both giving tara attention and she had food wen for no apparent reason she strted thumping and growling would let me touch her and was just running around my room thumping her foot can anyone explain....?

she then stopped an nothing more was heard... :S

  1. All rabbits thump and growl! I have one and she does that all of the time! Dont worry! This usually means that your rabbit was scared, but if he starts doing it all of the time, dont worry because it is like a habit for my bunny! That is just what they do!


  2. All rabbits do that. My friends rabbit does that. It's pretty normal.

  3. She may have detected a new scent or sound.  Rabbits have to be very alert to changes in their environment so she was thumping and growling because she sensed something different and felt threatened.  I know sometimes my rabbits will do the same thing for no apparent reason, and then be ok in no time.
