Why did my spit turn so foamy?

i have been smoking for 2-3 years now and i have a habit of spitting

a few days ago i realized that my spit was not clear but entirely foamy..

white, bubbly...

maybe this is normal and i'm just being paranoid

but i just want to be safe.
