Why don't White Sox fans wear sox jerseys. Why is Chicago not a White Sox town?

Can Chicago only get one Baseball team, and that's it. It hurts me to see all those empty seats at Royals game, and at Texas games.

Why don't the White Sox have an away team following?

Shouldn't there be White Sox fans everywhere?

I don't see them at all during the road games.

  1. the cubs are the lovable losers. u can't beat them even if the chi sox win i guess. it is weird because they are on the opposite sides of the city and should have a following, but the cubs franchise was here before the sox's franchise was. cubs were 1876 and white sox were 1900, i mean they have had a long time to get some fans but its the cubs

    EL DUQUE RULES(on the yanks)

  2. white sox are thugs and pieces of ****.  no one cares about them

  3. As a Sox fan I have to speak the truth and that is Cubs nation is much larger than the Sox. I believe this has to do with early broadcasting of Cubs and White Sox games. Cubs didn't always outsell the White Sox, but this is way before my time.

Perhaps if the Sox can do something big again this year a few Chicago baseball fans who aren't really devoted to either team will starting looking at the White Sox a little more.

I believe it was in Tampa Bay this year the Sox fans really outnumbered the Rays. It was only on the weekend that the Rays fans dominated. I think this may have to do with a lot of White Sox fans retiring and moving to Florida and the Rays are a very new team yet.

    GO GO WHITE SOX!!!!

  4. On the South Side there is a strong White Sox following.  We are the team that fixed the World Series, we are the team with a crazy manager, we are a team with an All Star Right Fielder who is ranked well in all hitting stats and pretty good defensively that can't get into the All Star game (Oh and he is also a former World Series MVP).  The White Sox are unique in baseball and that is good enough for me.

The White Sox don't need to be a tourist attraction, they don't need fans who have never been to the South Side, and they don't need to break fan attendance records.  If you think Bridgeport is somewhere in Massachusetts (Connecticut?  Whatever, it's all the same thing basically), then you don't need to be a White Sox fan.

--And Mr. White Sox is Ozzie, sorry Harold.

  5. No winning one world series in 90 somethin years will not bring you more fans

  6. That's one thing I never got.  Everyone talks about the Cubs' curse, or the "Curse of the Bambino", but no one ever seems to mention the Curse of the Black Sox.

As a Mets fan, I sympathize.  It sucks to be in the shadow of a bigger, more popular team in the same city.  It's like outside of NY, people forget we exist.

  7. i have been a sox fan since i was a little boy but Chicago has just always been a cubs town. But a lot of people cared when they won the world series.

PS. i don't live in Chicago and I'm a chi sox fan! i live in NC!

    Have a great day!

  8. we on the south side of chicago cares, we wear our jerseys its too hot here. because all anybody talks about is the cubs.we follow on tv and some of us do go on road trips. we're right where we need to be on the south side hanging with mayor daley.

  9. I wear White Sox jerseys.Thing is,when it gets hot here in Chicago,it gets HOT and the jerseys are too thick.

Not a White Sox town? Please don't tell me you're going to say it's a "Cubs town".If you haven't noticed there's a total difference, and please don't tell me you're that stupid that you don't know what that is.

..I'm not going to travel some hundred miles to Texas to see the Sox,sorry if that bothers you so much.If I trash talk those people in Texas,it will first start with something they take very seriously:Football. And I really want to live.

Because HD tv is the ****

"Shouldn't there be White Sox fans everywhere?"..Do you not know that there are 29 other MLB teams, therefore there are also going to be fans of those teams too everywhere?

Home games are always better anyway.at the Cell, you get 2 best things ever:"Thunderstruck" and "nah nah nah nah,hey hey hey,GOODBYE!!".

  10. I was very happy when the Chi Sox won the WS, and I rooted for them at a Giants game this year. I do like the White Sox. The Royals don't have a lot of people at their games because of their record. I personally would still be there, but I'm just one person. They will see fans when their record gets a little better.

  11. Just not as dedicated as the Cub fans..........

  12. No offense but its because everyone hates both the Sox unless your from boston or south chicago.

  13. The Sox should abandon Chicago and go where they'll be appreciated.

Chicago will never be anything but a Cubs town.

  14. The White Sox are the cities "ugly" sister in the baseball world.  They would win every game but the Cubs will get more press and praise in this done for doing the same or less then whatever the Soxs are doing the same year.  It all goes back to the 80's and the birth of WGN as a super station that could be seen in any part of the country.  Plus the had the most colorful announcer ever in Harry Caray.  COmbine that with their almost World Series chance in 1984, and Cubs slowly became one of the most popular teams in baseball just behind the Yankees.  The White Sox were only seen on cable for years until the last decade or so when they started getting televised on all of the same stations as the CUbs.  Then of course you have the Famous Wrigley Field in the popular North Side Wrigley area vs the SOuth side Us Cellular(or whatever else that it will be called in the future).  So the "hip" thing for younger people is to be a CUbs fan and go bar hopping.  Go to a Cubs game today and you will see what I mean(loaded with college kids).  I mean you can write a book why the Cubs are the cities favorite team but the things that I mentioned above are some of the most important reasons why this is the case.

  15. I'm a White Sox fan and people did care when they won in 2005, but it is currently 2008 which is why it isn't cared about as much

right now it is about this season

and yes the Cubs have more fans, but I wouldn't say better. a lot of people think they have great fans because they havn't won much well the Sox have fans who stick with a team that not many people love.

and the Royals not having fans doesn't have much to do with us. I would love to fill U.S Cellular every night, but just because that doesn't happen doesn't mean anything. I would rather win.

what do fans really get you in the end? they are great and I'm not bashing fans, but you need to win.

and I do wear white sox jerseys
