  1. what flag?  what are you talking about?

  2. Thank you RichB.  If you hadn't made this point, I was going to.  But just in case you're unsure about this, Jesse (as well as all you others who are gnashing your teeth over Obama's appalling lack of patriotism), see the link below that gives you all the details.  Wearing and/or waving the flag does not make you a patriot, and not wearing and/or waving one does not make you unpatriotic.

  3. Because it wasn't just a flag, it was part of the LOGO OF THE AIRLINE that previously operated the plane, which he changed to his own logo when he took possession of it. If he had left it as it was, he may have got in trouble with the airline for misappropriating the logo (a registered trademark), especially if the management of the airline did not want to be seen to be endorsing Obama.

McCain's plane does not carry an American flag on the tail either. If Obama had left the flag there, people would be saying, hey he's trying to be more American than McCain! He can't win can he?

Would you be asking such a question if the plane had originally come from, say, Air France or KLM, or some other foreign carrier?

  4. To put it into a nutshell, the same reason he stopped wearing the patriotic lapel pins  from his dress attire. It has been overused and abused. Many who wear these pins are patriotic only in words.  It lost its true meaning he said.

  5. I don't know, but I think that is a pretty weird thing to do...

  6. I really don't know.

    Does it matter?

Its his jet so he can change it to his preferences.

  7. Because like Rich B said, the flag on the tail was the logo of the leasing company, North American Airlines. When a jet's leased out as a campaign jet, it's usual for the candidate to paint their logo on the tail in place of whatever the leasing company's logo is. The US flag next to the aircraft's registration on the rear fuselage is still there, so the flag's hardly been removed.

  8. It might offend someone.

  9. people offended by obama putting his own logo on his plane need to get a life.

He's running for president, not SUPER PATRIOT
