  1. Because all that trash talk fired up the democratic base, not limited to but including HILLARY CLINTON.

  2. Cause the Democratic supporters cannot stand to see her in office so they rallied against her by donating to Obama.

    Simple as that.

  3. If you had read your own link (and the link at Bloomberg), you would have seen that McCain got his big $10 million push from an email solicitation the day Palin was chosen.  The Obama camp sent their email out and received a similar amount Wednesday night.  If you add the totals for the last week, they will be close to the same.

  4. B/C mainstream voters looked up what Palin stands for and against and realized that they didn't want a theocracy in the white house.

  5. Because Democrats are scared as h*ll!

  6. Interesting point that Oprah is giving away funds to Obama's camp in a not so direct way. It would not surprise me that illegal activity is going on over there, lets face it Obama has plenty of criminal associations. Overall, the substance will win over the cash flow. McCain and his proven leadership will be elected in November.

    McCain/Palin 2008!

  7. As of this morning John McCain has raised over 200 million dollars.

And I don't think blogs are credible news sources.

  8. Democrats are afraid McCain will win.  The Republicans feel like McCain's got it in the bag and really doesn't need the cash.

Plus, there's this from the LA Times:

"Led by chairman Mike Duncan, the Republican National Committee ended May with 13 times more money in the bank than its Democratic counterpart, and raised five times as much money in the same time frame."

Many Republicans already donated.  The surge after Palin's speech makes sense.  Republicans feel secure.  Democrats are afraid.  In fact, Obama's party sent out an e-mail following her talk to defend his work as a community organizer and to ask for money.  The Republicans didn't make a plea for cash, so a lot of this has to do with the timing of fundraising campaigns as well.

  9. Oprah's not footing McCain's campaign.

  10. That's easy. Because all the Hollywood crowd totally freaked when they heard the GOP VP. "Gosh we have to get money into the Democrap camp or we are going to get the crapped kicked out of us". ...Tom Cruise

  11. Because her speech was a reality check for many. It confirmed the support for Obama for many and opened the eyes of many more. They see that it is crucial that we elect a Dem and Not a Rep. She sealed the deal.

  12. She scared the Dems to death when they saw and heard her speak.

didn't you read your own link about the money the RNC has for McCain.

Obama refused public financing for a reason, he is now rid of limits and transparency of donors.  with Soros, and his associates, i am sure the Obama will outspend McCain, Kerry did the same thing with their help in the last election but it didn't help him either.

this strong woman is so appealing and has such a story that she and her family connected with millions of American women.

as a woman, i was outrages at the way the liberal press, the DNC, and Obama treated Hilliary.  i would bet that they are kicking themselves now for not even considering her and her 18 Million voters.  it was shameful but a boon for the Republicans who had the courage to actually walk the talk.  i would not be surprised if Biden got dumped and they begged Hillary to save them.  i hope she tells them a resounding NO.

there has not been enough time for pundits to evaluate her impact on the polls and the money.  one day is no measure but it is the long haul that counts.

so don't worry about the republicans, they will be just fine.

  13. because Palin's speech has kinda set the republican party back as a whole.  People all over wanted to see what Palin was all about, and not only did she feed right into what every other republican was saying, but she did nothing but insult, degrade, and ridicule the democratic party.  Those are old right wing tactics, and everybody know it.

The dagger came in, however, when McCain gave his speech, and completely went in another direction than everybody else who he appointed to speak at the convention.  Everything the republican party is doing now is a strategy to get in the white house.  The seemed re-energized at the convention when Palin spoke, but it was all trash talk.  It was like getting ready for a heavyweight fight, and Palin was the promoter.  Then McCain get up there, and completely goes another way, and the people at the convention seemed inspired, but confused; and I was too.  Like, you all were just trashing everyone who was democrat, trashing community organizers, trashing everybody.  Even McCain's wife seemed trigger happy on the last night of the RNC, but McCain ....well, he flipped the script and people are confused.

Democrats seem to know where they're delegates and nominees stand, the front seems united, and they not only have a message, but plans on how to deliver big in the white house.  You would think that after following the Bush administration, the republican party would realize that the american people want to know how you are going to fix things, not just more tough talk.

All the trash they were slinging, and daggers they were throwing at the convention, don't mean squat outside those walls.  It was like a locker room pep talk:  it was to boost the moral of the people in the locker room, but has absolutely nothing to do with how they play, what they can do, or if they can deliver.

  14. I think you've got that backwards. (Out of contex).

"The RNC says donations began pouring in over the Internet soon after Palin began speaking. McCain also got a few last-minute donations. Once McCain accepts the Republican nomination for president tonight, he will no longer be allowed to accept private donations because he as opted to accept $85 million in federal financing for his campaign."

  15. Because the McCain camp was using the convention to raise money for the Hurricane victims.

  16. Because the people wanted to give it

    .

    Plane and simple

    .

  17. I just sent McCain/Palin $11,000,000.00 to make up the difference. (lol) By the way- Palin's speech was 36 hours ago- there's not been time to post all the new money coming in.  You might as well face the facts, McCain/Palin have clinched the election.  No amount of money is going to change that.

  18. Obama raised more because democrats are scared of a strong woman running as a Republican. Cant wait till Obama has to explain how raising taxes on the middle class to pay for his mandatory health care will be good.

  19. "Democrats are afraid McCain will win. The Republicans feel like McCain's got it in the bag and really doesn't need the cash."

that's wishful thinking , if the republicans really " thought" Mccain's got it in the bag they wouldn't even be here now campaigning for him lol , and in case you didn't know Obama's ahead in the polls .

  20. It backfired.

  21. Is it really so surprising..

  22. Yes, I heard it was $10 M as well.  Both of those numbers are amounts of money donated immediately following Palin's speech.  Palin's speech just ticked-off a bunch of Democrats to the point where they wanted to give money to Obama's campaign.

I think it is funny how most Obama supporters are falling for this illusion of 'change'.  If Obama was for change, why did he pick Biden as his VP.  Biden is a 35-year veteran of the Senate. He has been in the Senate since 1973. Biden has served for the sixth-longest period among current senators. Yes, sir that is real change!

Obama's campaign is running on promises, praying that voting Americans do not research the candidates.

Obama = higher taxes and more government.

  23. Because she so intimidated and scared the Democrats that they felt they better donate a lot of money to the campaign...not that's it's going to help...

  24. i think cause after independents and republicans saw her and listened to her, they went "oh sh*t" and stampeded over to the Dems.

    I know I did.

  25. People don't like negative attacks like those exhibited by Palin Wednesday.

  26. 2 words Oprah Winfrey is a Billionaire, she gives people at her show money so she can donate more than she is allowed

  27. http://www.bradenton.com/politics/story/...

Palin instantly appealed to contributors. McCain's once lackluster fundraising jumped by $10 million in the days after he picked her.

  28. Because the demoncrats are scared of Palin and all that she stands for....The demoncrats are against families, and religion and prosperity so just her mere existence makes all the liberal scum ....scared ....and uneasy...they want all moms on welfare living in government subsidised housing waiting for the 3rd of the month liberal handout day......Its just sickening to see these hemp wearing liberals raging at this perfect candidate(Sarah Palin)

She is a mother, a successful politician, has a special needs child, and works 60 hours a week...that unto itself is a freaking nightmare for the demoncrats......face it the demoncrats are the ones COMPLETELY out touch with America and Americas' hockey moms....

  29. The only reason I can figure is that they know now that this is going to be a tough fight.  Obviously, if you have a strong opponent, it makes you want to work harder.

  30. Because Palin didn't appeal to the rapper scum of this nation.

  31. And while Obama was getting money, McCain was catching him in the polls.

    Value of that?  Priceless.
