A little more information.  Like what you mean by aboriginals, since a lot of pastoralists are aboriginals.  Are you asking why sheep farmers in New Zealand employ Maoris?

Yes please specify which countries aboriginals you are talking about. As for Australia pastoralists employed Aboriginals as they didn't at the time come under the wage labor system. they could pay them with food and other things that were of value to the Natives. Also the natives knew the land better.It also gave the aboriginal access to the wider colonial society.
