Why did police use a taser on a 17 year old with a knife, killing him, but tried to talk with Li on the bus?

As soon as they arrived, police should have entered the bus and tasered him instead of allowing Li to continue to mutilate and eat the victim! Does anyone else agree? Many people wish he had just been shot, but if you use a taser, often multiple times, you can accidentally kill the pshyco..wink wink.

Let me see if I understand this correctly, both the police and the civilians involved handled this horrific situation with professionalism and aplomb, and got the perpetrator into custody with no danger to others. And that's not good enough for you? I'm proud of Canada and Canadians for how this was handled.

i wasn't there i didn't see what was going on

different situations call for different responses

the cops made a judgement call based on the info they had at the time.  that's all i can say since i am a rational person who doesn't read a media headline and start ranting like i know best.

like mine i guess who cares i never found myself dealing wit a situtation as crazy as the bus passenger head chop situation unlike the police did that day

I am sure the police involved would have loved to shoot the killer right on the spot. The police did handle it right..in a calm manner without anyone else getting hurt.. it is not everyday the rcmp has to deal with sickos like this!

  This guy had no fear because he knew he was not in Texas and would not be harmed so he did as he was pleased to do. This guy was an agent of someone and was on this mission.

I'm sure the police sensed that Li had probably been abused as a child... furthermore, Li probably suffers from depression or ADD, and they could probably sense this as well, so they were showing compassion and understanding... isn't that the way the law is supposed to work-excuse the truly deranged and execute swift justice when it's not appropriate?

As he was no further danger to other passengers the police would want to take him alive. Dead men tell no tales.
