Why did p**n pop up in the address bar?

My mom was on the family computer today, typing in www.po... (for portraitsimple.com), but then a p**n website popped up in the address bar. This usually happens if someone went on it before, right? My mom is blaming me, the stereotypical 16-year-old boy, but it definitely wasn't me, and my dad claims to have not been on it, and so does my sister. How can this be possible?

You may have malware on your computer. Pls update & run your anti-virus & anti-spyware programs.

Yeah, maybe it's be virus however i think as you thought. Web Browser 'll remember what you typed (it's called history) for saving time when you type next time. Go to Tool --> internet option and choose "delete all". It's not shown again.

If you type in the URL wrong, sometimes it will go to a "link farm" or p**n site.  If the site is not in the history, and you don't have cookies rom that site, then you can prove it wasn't visited before.

I imagine there is some possibility your computer was hijacked by a browser invader.   Normally these will change your home page, and upload a bunch of "favorites".

However, usually, these invaders are found on questionable sites themselves (casino, p**n, file sharing).  So even if this was the case, someone in your house was likely doing something morally questionable.

Sounds like someone might not be very honest. Worth a look at the history in your browser.

man, i feel for you. this happened to me all the time.

there is not to much you can do. just deny anything they say accusing you of doing it. or you can download a block, but that can also take away myspace,yahoo, whatever. good luck.
