Why did queen elizabeth hide when she went to plays?

to people who answered this question yes im talking bout the 1 i read on a website that she hid from assasins and such and didnt want others to see her

  1. All the above, plus her youngest is an actor. When he performed on stage she didn't want to take away from him and the rest of the cast, so she stay hidden.

    If you mean Queen Elizabeth I of England, the answer is that she didn't. She ordered actors to come to her court and perform for her whenever she wanted to hear a play; and sometimes when she was visiting one of her senior noblemen he would organise a play for her entertainment. But she certainly didn't hide herself in either case.

    If you mean the current Queen of Great Britain, I have never heard that she does, either.

    I wonder if you are basing your question on the "play" scene in "Shakespeare in Love"? That wasn't a serious historical story!

  4. She probably didn't want to be seen and it would probably cause a lot of uproar if the people at the play new the queen was right there with them.

  5. The Queen would only make her presence know when she had adquete protection, however that was not really necessary amongst her people because she was respected by them.
