Why did "god" think the world that he created was flat?

If he is everywhere and omnipresent, why couldn't he see that he had created a sphere?

Ok, I just asked him and he said that it started out flat (like a pancake--his word) but he thought a rounder shape would be so much more pleasant in his hand (he's got the whole world in his hand) so he rolled it around to make it round and got some crud and stuff stuck in it, which turns out to have helped him create life on earth.

The Bible says that the Earth is round and floats on nothing. Pretty amazing, since it was written thousands of years ago back when Science thought that it was flat.

A circle is not a sphere. A circle is a flat shape with round edges. i.e. a disc

And before you say "same thing", consider that Isaiah writes a few verses later Isaiah 22:18 "He will surely wind thee round and round, [and toss thee] like a ball into a large country"

The two words used in Hebrew for circle and ball are different. It's clear that Isaiah knew the difference between a disc and a ball, and chose to describe the earth as a disc. And being the "infallible word of God", therefore God must have made that mistake.

The Bible proves that God did know it was a sphere. Look at these two scriptures here...

Isaiah 40:22 "There is One who is dwelling above the circle of the earth, the dwellers in which are as grasshoppers, the One who is stretching out the heavens just as a fine gauze, who spreads them out like a tent in which to dwell"

Job 26: 7 "He is stretching out the north over the empty place,

Hanging the earth upon nothing"

So God not only tells us in the Bible that the Earth is round (circle) but also that it is floating in space.

P.S.  Rev 7:1 says  "After this I saw four angels standing upon the four corners of the earth, holding tight the four winds of the earth..."

Wind comes from four corners or directions... East, West, North, and South. This verse is speaking of corners as direction of travel rather than actual corners like of a box (which is flat and square on the end). Besides, the first verse in Revelation says that Jesus was giving information to John in "signs". So this means that the descriptions are figurative.

The God of the Bible revealed the earth to be an orb suspended in space long before any human scientist discovered this to be true:

"He stretches out the north over empty space

         And hangs the earth on nothing."

Job 26:7 - (written perhaps 1500 BC)
