  1. yes it is the trigger for ww3 if they keep on going at it which most likely they will go at it some more

  2. Do a search on Arch Duke Ferdinand circa 1914.

p.s. most people on the internet are shooting from their butts.  No sense of history!

  3. Russia invaded Georgia because they are trying to prove to world they they're still superpower, also that is continuation of Russian empire expansionist politics. At this moment they don't have enough power to invade something bigger, so tiny Georgia was a good target for starters.

to Garish - Interesting why do you keep spreading lies about genocide committed by Georgians?

Russians and Ossetins are controlling Tskhinvali for 5 or 6 days already right? If there was a genocide do you or anyone else here believes that they wouldn't be showing videos and posting photos of thousands of dead?

Why won't Russia let anyone in to investigate genocide claims? Well, by now I guess that's pointless because it's pretty clear it was pure BS.

HRW which is an international organization, reported 44 dead including military. Nowhere close to 1600 cited by Russians. For the record, Russia gave the number of dead civilians - 2000, on the first day, later I guess 400 of them got resurrected, so Russians lowered it to 1600.

US journalists were involved in genocide? Like how? They were banging civilians to death with their cameras?

We do have several journalists killed by Russians and ossetins confirmed. Plus two wounded journalists detained in Vladikavkaz. I presume those were also involved in genocide of which no one has seen any proof?

Georgian terrorist army? Let me see, Georgia, legitimate country, recognized by all of the world, has legitimate army, and you call them terrorists. S.O. which is still Georgian territory controlled by illegal armed formations, sponsored by Russians, armed by Russians, and they're legitimate and non terrorists?

Since you're so bent on genocide let me refresh your memory.

    1) Yesterday, S.O. president Kokoiti officially announced that they've finished leveling Georgian villages in S.O. and they will never let Georgian refugees back to S.O. In addition he admitted facts of looting.

So, we have a group (illegal) that openly admits burning and demolishing villages by ethnicity and their promise not to let the refugees come back. Can you find me more precise description of ethnic cleansing? Add to that Russian presidents reaffirmation that Russia will support any action of S.O. separatists and what a nice picture we have.

    2) 2 days ago, after Russia declared that they'd investigate genocide in S.O.  Ingush republic officially asked Russian government to investigate facts of genocide committed against Ingush people in1992 by North and South Ossetins supported by Russian army. That lead to the deaths of over 1000 Ingushs, over 60,000 Ingushs were forced to leave their homes which were looted and burned down by Ossetins and Russians. Ossetins never let Ingushs to come back. Link is below, it's in Russian, but translators do ao good job. Plus there's documentary which is pretty graphic.

Does #1 and #2 sound similar?

    3) I don't have few pages here to list all the acts of genocide committed by Russians in Chechnya. but the list is very long.

    4) Abkhazs and Chechens (again, with Russian military support) in 1993 committed multiple acts of genocide against Georgian, Greek and Armenian population in Abkhazia.

So, on one side we have Russia and  Ossetia, both with proven records of Genocide. Real facts, real dead bodies, burned down houses, hundreds of thousand refugees...

On the other side we have Georgia, accused in genocide by Russia  and Ossetia and neither of them can produce a single fact proving their claims. One would think, it's very simple, if there are thousands of dead bodies on the streets (as you claim) just take a picture  and show the world. yet, in 21st century that proves to be a problem huh?

And you have that pesky HRW reporting 44 dead when righteous Russian media is reporting 1600...

As for last few videos, Gori is a small town nearby conflict zone, but not inside of it. Russians occupied it few days ago, denied occupation for few days, later western journalists (taking a break form genocide one presumes) reported looting and killings by Russians. Next day Russia said they'd leave Gori in 2 days. Never bothered to explain how ere they gonna leave a town entering which they denied so fiercly.

  4. cause they want to bring back the iron curtain, an atrocity against mankind in general. if it triggers ww3 then so be it.

  5. Because Georgia started dropping bombs on Ossetia. It could be; it depends on how this situation is handled.

  6. A lot of people continue to ask the wrong questions.

Georgia started the war by making genocide in S.Ossetia, the place Russia was a peacekeeper according to UN.

US invloved because it supplied the georgian terroristic army, US instructors and journalists also took part in genocide.

According to its obligations Russia have to response against aggressor.

Couple of days ago sides agreed to peace(Russia is returning to S.Ossetia, georgian to its military bases), and there were no major fightings, though some georgian provocations took place.

Now Bush is trying to escalate the conflict with military supplies (this is called "humanitarian aid") and diplomatic support to Georgia .

With all this diplomatic and military support the mad president of Georgia can start to attack peaceful towns again. Of course "free" mass-media of US will forget to show you this, but when Russia will start to react again they will cry about invasion once more, just as CNN did it already. And probably this can grow to the bigger conflict.

  7. Georgia is a strategic point for oil and gas pipelines to carry resources from the caspian sea directly to europe and other world markets, same reason why they invaded afghanistan in the 80's. As for your concern about ww3.. the only thing that would ignite that would be a significant shift in the balance of military power in the world, which isnt going to happen any time soon. Go to wikipedia and check out our military budget compared to the rest of the worlds, that should put your mind at ease for now.
