  1. Because it didn't matter.  The party refuses to credit Michigan's voters and have decided to eliminate their delegates from the convention.  It's interesting to see how Socialism begins.

  2. Michigan changed it's primary date.  They lost there delegates to the democratic convention.  Michigan's democratic contest was no more than a beauty contest so some of the candidates moved on to those states that could help them get the nomination

  3. Because this state is like the black hole for the rest of the country, it is a shadow of things to come. Why actually face the issues here when they can go somewhere sunnier like Las Vegas? Yes the state did violate some crappy DNC rules that only aids this insane idea that only or two states get to dictated who the nominee is.

  4. Democratic National Committee *DNC* did not want Michigan primary held so early.  DNC said convention delegates selected in the election would not be seated.  Candidates decided not to waste resources there.

    ***

  5. Michigan lost it's DNC delegates this year since they moved their primary to an earlier time than the DNC wanted.  So the "win" for Hillary is wasted since Michigan doesn't get any votes for the Democratic Nomination.  That is why Obama and others did not spend any time in Michigan since it is a waste of time at this early stage.

  6. Because the democratic delegates were removed when they decided to hold their primaries too early.

  7. Michigan broke national party rules by moving their primary forward.  The result is the party asked all the candidates to not campaign there (none of the big ones did on either side) and the democratic party stripped all of Michigan's delegates from the national convention.  Obama and Edwards were not even on the ballot in order to respect the primary process as established by the Democratic party.  The result is that they could have lost some key party support and not have won anything by campaigning in Michigan.  Might hurt the dems come general election, but the candidates that didn't even get on the ballot certainly showed a lot of character and respect by following rules at their own expense.

  8. It isn't that they refused to campaign, it is that the DNC decided to punish the Delagates of the state.

Michigan moved up its primary date, and it was warned not to. The DNC wouldn't put the other people on the ballot as a punishment, and by doing that, they punished the actual voters of the State.

Talk about Voter Disinfranchisement. The DNC always says that they protect the voters, and what they did was slap them in the face, and told them that their votes don't matter.
