I dont get why anyone ever started slavery, it's cruel. And segregation, where the whites and blacks never came close to each other, it makes no sense. It's not like they had germs, and if you got near them you would die! Then the KKK, just cause they didnt want the blacks to be free or something like that, they didnt have to go around killing them!! That wouldnt solve anything!! They'd just go to jail. I hate all that stuff, its all so mean. So why did it start?

  1. they're stupid and extremely cruel

  2. African people didn't sell their people because they were poor, but because they were naive.First, the people they sold were usually war prisoners which they didn't care for. They would sell them in exchange of mere europeans items such as mirrors, umbrellas, which were unknown to them. Africa was NOT poor at this time. Also,Europeans needed people to cultivate their cane sugar plantations in North America and Indians were not appropriate for the job. I think they were physically weak compared to Africans and died quickly of all the diseases they had in that part of America. They wouldn't last long under harsh treatments, and they needed a lot of care in order to last long in the plantations. However, Africans have a more naturally muscular body and they immunity system had anti-bodies for some of the diseases Indians easily died from. It was more of an economical decision at the time. With time, the trade just amplified and they took Africans by force and  started the process of colonization as they realized that Africa had much more to offer than strong arms. The rest happened as white had more and more power over Africa and the black people in general. it's sad I know,I'm african and it pisses me off all the damage that western powers had done to my continent and black peopel in general. Anw, I hope this will change someday!

  3. Slavery has been around for as long as life its self.  As to the rest, the democrtates were unhappy about losing the war.

  4. Okay slavery started sorta like this:

Africa was a rich continent and had a lot of gold. Europe robbed and stole gold from Africa; leaving africa broke. At this time Europe was in North America and had chased indians off of their land. So africa was poor and couldn't feed their people and went through a famine. In order to survive they had to sell people for money. So they sold and traded slaves for money.

That's just a generalization of it.

  5. You see no matter how hard people try to deny it Humans are still animals and we are not perfect

  6. Free speech. And common sense.

  7. Many whites felt threaten by the newly freed blacks so they formed kkk.

  8. Hello,

    1) Slavery had been around for 5000 years and before the invention of steam machines and mechanization it was economically feasible and an accepted institution whether we like it or not today. It was a price one paid for losing a war and be subjugated by a foreign power.

    2) The KKK were not around during or before the Civil War. They came shortly after during the " Reconstruction Era " (1865-1890) which according to some historians, laid the ground work for all the segregation and discrimination. They were essentially a vigilante group which wore the sheets to resemble ghosts of Confederate soldiers and to drive away the white carpet baggers and expoiliters from the North as well as to keep the now free roaming ex - slaves in their place.

There had been no plans to take care of the liberated slaves after the war since the war itself was not about slavery.
