  2. Surrender...We were only kidding, can't you the Union Jack at the corner of those red and white stripes ?

Cornwallis was having his tea when the the French stuck a big gun at his back, so he gave America to the Yankees rather than the French, and we have been friends ever since (Apart from you lot trying to take Canada in 1812-14)

  3. they wanted 2 go 2 check on there tea!!!!!   (we messed up theres at the boston tea party!!!)

  4. I was just at Yorktown this past fall.

The British, after a campaign in North Carolina and western Virgina, fell back to the peninsula to refit.  Hearing this the French and American troops quickly marched to pen him in - the concentration of most of the troops under the American flag outnumberred the troops under Conrwallis.

The British attempted to resupply the troops from New York, but were turned back by the French fleet. Meanwhile the lines around the British position crept closer and tighter. The British position could be easily shelled from the American lines.

Cornwallis attempted to cross the York River, but a storm put an end to those plans (Also there was an American force across the river, but it was smaller and the British may have overwhlemed them).

Surrounded and running low on supplies, the British surrendered.
