Obama's former church received $1.5 million from the faith-based initiatives program. If the pastor of the church is considered by Repubs to be so rampantly anti-American, why give them money?

  1. You're right. The program is stupid and the church should never have received the money. The difference though is, like any government program with crappy oversight, the just handed out the money without doing much investigation. Obama however, knew EXACTLY what was going on and sit in the pews. If you can't see the difference, you must be an Obama supporter.

  2. because it was a faith based initiative and they can't be like.. your church isn't holy enough.

  3. Can you provide a reliable news report on this other than the Cyber News you posted?

  4. To be honest, I'm sure the administration does not review and check on every program that they donate to.

  5. Because Obama wasn't run at the time for President.

  6. because of that very fact.  It's a faith-based service eligiable for tax brakes, grants and many other financial based programs.  Owning a church is a very profitable business venture.

  7. I'll never understand how you managed to get criticism for Bush rather than Obama out of that article.  But that's an Obama supporter for you.  Geeze.

  8. WHO IS C.N.S. NEWS--I NEVER HEARD OF THEM.---IF THEY DID GET THE MONEY I WOULD ASSUME THEY QUALIFIED UNDER THE RULES OF THE FAITH-BASED INITIATIVES REGARDLESS WHO THE PASTOR WAS.  REV. WRIGHT PROBABLY MADE AN *** OF HIMSELF AFTER GETTING THE MONEY

  9. Was that one of Obama's earmarks?

  10. I think the Bush administration loaded bushels of cash and dropped from helicopters.  Oh wait that is exactly what Bernake said he would do.

  11. Republicans have courted the "religious" for decades. The so-called faith based initiative has been nothing more than trying to hoodwink this population into voting against their best interests. Say you are Christian and anti-abortion and they will vote your party.

  12. They cant pick and choose the churches that are in the faith based initiative

  13. We don't need any more proof than Rev Wright's comments of our nation... Rev Wright btw has been Obama's pastor for 20 years.
