yeah I saw that too.  I'm guessing they're sponsored by someone not as innovative as speedo.  Nike allowed their swimmers (hansen, peirsol, lezak, others) to wear speedo but I guess the chinese companies aren't as lax.  Other swimmers like vendt just wendt behind their sponsors (TYR) back

The athletes are only suppose to used equipment given to them by sponsors. chinese brands like "Li Ning" make bad swim gear.

Probably because they are sponsored by another company and technically can't be seen competing in gear other than their sponsorship.

they are sponsored by nike

they wanted to wear the new speedo suits that make you go faster

so they struck a deal with nike

and they wore the suits but covered the label

dolly, I'm guessing they didn't want to acknowledge that a non-Chinese company made the best swimwear for racing.
