Why did the Creator of the world make manure smell so bad?

I am a believer, but I have often wondered why God created manure to smell so bad. No disrespect is intended. Maybe it was not God's intention for manure to have such a bad smell.

  1. Because he doesn't want us to eat p**p.  God's way of saying "eww don't eat that"

  2. It what the animals eats that make the smell no God.LOL

and "Trouble in the Elf City"

  3. perhaps it was made that way to symbolize that putting a manure on top of man's head is not so pretty.

  4. Manure is waste. Something that has already been used up, and is a toxic substance excreted from another being. Basically, God wouldn't have wanted us to be attracted to fecal matter, because it would only intoxicate us.

  5. Perhaps your preacher, pastor, pope or priest can answer this. It is puzzling that so many confuse religion and philosophy.

Manure stinks because it is decaying organic matter.

  6. human beings and all animals evolved to find what is good to eat smells nice and what is not smells bad. through a process of dying when this doesn't work and living when it does.

it also prevents you from eating too much of the same thing, in order to get a balanced diet, that's why you get sick of eating the same thing too much, you might find some things way too sweet. and that's why water has no taste, because you can't get too sick of water you need alot of it over and over, and just it's other properties like the sound and the look are enough to make you salivate for it. but don't forget, we evolved these senses before we learned to manipulate them, like artificial flavours and stuff. there aren't really any other liquids like water lying around anywhere, some in the food we would eat anyways.

smell is not a property of objects it is a property of the human mind. same for all the senses.

so technically poo doesn't smell like poo. but humans transform specific poo molecules that blow off the poo, steamy is better, the nose sucks in the poo molecules and the brain converts that into poo smell, bad, and so we stay away and don't feel like eating it or touching it, or being near it.

  7. Assuming that 1) there is a God, and that 2) the smell of manure is His doing; the most likely reason would be to encourage us not to mess with something potentially infectious.  Bear in mind, the avoidance of f***s is a learned attitude, not an instinctive one.

  8. It was for marking the turf...

  9. well... i guess so that we dont' eat it

  10. Well because it's p**p and it's waste material.  Food must be broken down and eliminated once it is consumed and all the benefits of the food, nutrition, vitamins, and nutrients have been retrieved from it.  After all that it becomes well s***!  And besides He didnt want people discarding in just anywhere, or reused, consumed again, or have people playing it!  That is EXCEPT as fertilizer which cow p**p just happens to have a good use.  Perhaps that fact was an accident or it goes to show you even some p**p has some purpose?

  11. Maybe to protect us? A lot of diseases are transmitted through the fecal-oral route so I suppose that may be it. A bit like why poison tastes bitter.

  12. It may be for the purpose of separating or disintegrate into component parts or basic elements. Decomposition for instance. In order it becomes rotten to putrefy the soil. The partial decomposition of organic matter by microorganisms, producing foul-smelling matter.
