Why did the Houston Oilers change their name to the Texans

They didnt. you see, the oilers franchise was moved in the season of 1996-1997. moved to tennessee where they became the titans. then a new franchise was bought (the texans) in houston.

They didn't.. the Houston Oilers are now the Tennessee Titans.. :)--((the colors are still the same actually)).. The Texans are just a new expansion team

thats not correct...the oilers moved and became the TN Titans

they didn't...the houston oilers became the tennessee titans...and then a couple of years later houston got another team back called the texans

The Houston Oilers and the Houston Texans are not the same team. The Oilers moved to Tennessee & became the Tennessee Titans.
