Why did the Pakistani olympians have shaved beard but grew moustaches?

I don't know, but I think that they did that to not be mistaken as supporters of Taliban, who have untrimmed beards?

unfortunately most,not ALL pakistani muslims tend to practice culture over islaam in general. maybe they think the mustache will bring them luck and not all pakistani's are muslim, some are hindu and christian.

It is personal preference, whether someone has a beard, mustache or neither. There is no compulsion in Pakistan.

True that.....moustache is considered to be a sign of pride n honour in Pakistan....sadly!

Cause they probably like it that way? I know it's Sunnah to have a beard, but many do not like it.
