Paul Frank was a fad business.  After business fell off as the teens the previously bought the items have matured, the business fell off tremendously.  A smart designer would have broadened their product offerings and continued to design more items, however, they still stuck with the original motifs....business fell as a result in a high-rent district ending in their closure.
