700 people are reported missing as a Ferry sunk enroute from Cebu to Manil sank today. Is this an example of gross negligence and greed by the goverment and the Ferry company?

  1. because the ship can travel in signal # 1 storm. The ship is too big i had rode that ship. from Manila to Cebu.

  2. They have defective monitoring machine..as they said in the news...

  3. maybe the shipping company didn't follow the rules and warnings given

  4. Ever been to the Philippines ? I jus don'tt think they worry too much about such things. There are lots of problems with the ferries in the Philippines and some of then aren't that seaworthy. You can't really apply western standards here.

  5. Could be that they thought they could get across before the worst of the storm hit.

Could be that storms occurring are so routine that to suspend ferry travel every single time one was brewing would be impractical.

Could be that no disaster like that had happened within anyone's memory, so they didn't think anything could go wrong...
