  1. Not sure, bit of a surprise though, maybe Roos thought the value and the trade made sense now rather than in a year or two. Looking to the future by the sounds of it.

    the ol' sayings...

decent form .... decent trade .......  no form .......... no trade

  2. Perhaps salary cap, perhaps they couldn't strike a deal with him.  It couldn't have been his play - surely he was amongst the best for them this year.  He's the type that could fill a number of holes too.  A bit bemusing.

  3. I heard a rumour he was given the flick because he refused to take part in the last g*y & L*****n parade......

Apparently everyone else in Sydney participates.

  4. He was dropped quite a few times through the year. Roos gave him an ultimatum in the reserves that he had to bounce the ball x number of times. Obviously he wanted him running alot more than he was. Not really a surprise, although he can score 3 or 4 goals when he is 'on', he is hot and cold and can be a bit lazy, also Sydney has too many "burst" players like Nick Davis and O'Loughlin.

Also interesting that Buchanan was up for trade and he was not selected in the COllingwood final even though he was available. Roos is under the pump to redefine Sydney so he has to take a harder line with the likes of Schneider. He is a good player though, I hope the saints get the best out of him because he can do some freaky things when he is confident.

  5. i read that Sydney was looking to get some pace through the mid-field and that was the reason they had Buchanan and Schneider up to trade, personally i don't get it, Schneider would be a good addition to any side and Sydney definately haven't improved their side by getting rid of him.

  6. I was surprised too.  I would have thought they could use the forward fire power with Hall and O'Lauchlan getting older. I think Roos doesn't like him, as he's sent him to the reserves a few times I think.
