Why did the U.S. Congress go out for recess before doing anything?

It is the economy, stupid, and I speak to the fine members of the U.S. Congress. What is wrong with these people? Incomprehensible to me. Corrupt, lazy, no sense of duty, no character and taking "sweetheart deals" from Countrywide Mortgages and God knows who else. Exxon, Halliburton, Brazil and Iraq? d**n these people and the horse they rode in on. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Congress has a worst reputation and lower poll numbers than our sitting president.A Republican named Rush Limbaugh said this quote a "Do nothing Congress is a good one".(He may have been "high "on OXY at the time)

Well Rush all your Republican buddies are still not doing a darn thing.However the democrats are pretty useless too.Need to clean house first with the lobbyist then with these life long politicians.We need some fresh blood in Washington to get things done.America is hurting!!!!!!!!!!!!! But, please be aware , Sernator Arlan Spector of PA plans to hold hearings about Horse Racing, with the intent of making it safer for the horse. Therefore, if I were a horse, I'd have to disagree with you..

Because Congress would have a conniption fit if they had to actually work more the 4 months out of the year. And you can't blame them for doing something stupid if they don't do anything.

The war funding bill is for our GI's in the field. withdrawing those funds would surely Kill many more US troops. the last two months have been particularly low on the violence scale. Iraq has finally gotten the word that they are now a launching platform for a war with Iran. going to be started by the Israelis, but when Iran infiltrates Iraq and we catch them, then the combined forces of Iraq and The US, Plus Nato (once Iran uses Bio weapons on the Israelis). So it should be another interesting Decade.
