  1. there are many conspiracy theories, but the most sensible answer as to why they collapsed was a design fault to do with the cetral supporting columns.

  2. The answer is in high school physics, it's real simple. Any person who graduated high school should have no problem understanding why it happened.

Planes hit the world trade center. The force of gravity on the towers was supported by distributing the force throughout the the outside skin of the buildings. The fire weakened the floor supports on the buildings and the heavy concrete floors started to give way. Because it's support structure (the outside skin was damaged) it could not hold the increased force of the multiple concrete floors and the structure collapsed to the ground because of the force of gravity.

I could have drawn the extremely simple force diagrams but YA only has a text based interface.

  3. look up a video on youtube called "loose change" ..this is a documentary all about it. It really got me thinking.....

there are many parts to the series, here is one:

  4. No one knows. It's a conspiracy that will go on forever. At the end of the day, I'm gonna say it was because they were hit by planes.

  5. Ignore the conspiracy theories. They're just a bunch of people trying to bring attention to themselves. The reason they collapsed is because they were hit by airplains traveling 530 miles/hour and carrying 20,000 gallons of jet fuel. The support columbs and fire proofing failed. After so long of buring uncontrollably, they gave way.

  6. no offense , but high school physics are not really needed-- my 10 year old understands that if you cripple any structures main form of support, its going to eventually crumble--  like a previous reply,  2 commercial jet liners, both full of fuel, crush the exterior skeleton of the building- ( I believe tower 2 was actually impacted on the corner)--  extreme heat on metal joists and frames,- excessive weight from the floors above the impact--   it's a miracle they stood as long as they did
