  1. why shouldn't they?  Queen is a word, it's not copyrighted, it doesn't belong exclusively to the Royal family.  Besides which Freddie looked adorable in his ermine and crown

  2. According to a statement made by  lead vocalist Freddie Mercury, he said "I thought up the name Queen. It's just a name, but it's very regal obviously, and it sounds splendid. It's a strong name, very universal and immediate. It had a lot of visual potential and was open to all sorts of interpretations."

  3. It's so very obvious.............Queen is/was a g*y band!

    best of luck to you!

  4. Because they wanted to be something big, and a Queen is powerful and important. It has a better ring to it than "king", don't you think?

I think they're an amazing band. Every member is so talented, they make beautiful music.

  5. They were as g*y as they come, that's why. Nothing to do with Royalty...and it was the biggest unkept secret about all of them! It was a h**l of a pun and they were very flamboyant...it had nothing to do with royalty! Just the slang term for g*y!

  6. umm, cos freddie mercury was g*y but not out.. so it was kind of ironic

    (a queen= a g*y man in english slang)
