Alright many of you guys may not know about this earthquake. It was big. In Tashkent, former USSR, there was a big earthquake in the center of the city.

I read one book where one conservative grandpa said that girls started making stylish haircuts instead of having traditional old-style hair and wore short skirts instead of hijabs or whatever, and therefore the Earth got angry.

What do you think of this statement? I read it in a book by a prominent Russian author who worked with Nikita Khruschev. Frankly, like 25% of the 4 million population still believes the earthquake happened because of that.

  1. And in the middle ages people believed the sun moved around the Earth. The people in Tashkent aren't alone in their ignorance. Here in the USA several Christian hucksters have blamed Hurricane Katrina on God's Wrath, and invited the people of New Orleans to start following the One True Path, which just so happens to be the one they can lead people down.

It was shifting tectonic plates. The Earth doesn't care. God doesn't use His powers to bring about natural disasters. The earth moves around the sun, too.

Ladies in Brazil go almost naked on the beach, and Rio de Janeiro hasn't had an earthquake.

  2. Didn't know that

  3. Seriously, google tectonic plate movement.

  4. wow,  gee I guess God was mad at them then...
