  1. cause he wanted to show that even if harvey dent hates him and wants him dead, he either doesnt have the balls or doesnt really WANT to kill him. he also likes putting things up to chance a hellufalot, he's kinda crazy like that

  2. cause hes crazy like that

  3. The Joker went to visit Harvey in the hospital to corrupt him.  He told Harvey he should "introduce a little anarchy.  Upset the established order and everything becomes chaos.  I'm an agent of chaos.  Oh, and the thing about chaos, it's fair."  The "it's fair" part got to Harvey since he was trying to see the fairness in his loss of Rachel.  So, to prove his point, the Joker gave Harvey a gun and urged Dent to shoot him.  He didn't care about his life, as psycho as he is it's not hard to believe.  All he cared about was thwarting Gotham's restoration. *REMEMBER: the city is in the middle of reforming after they were overrun by the mob.*  So for the Joker, it wasn't about living or dying, it was about his plan.  If Dent killed him, the Joker knew he had succeeded in corrupting Dent.  If Dent didn't kill him, he got to keep his life but he knew that Dent still had some good in him.  By leaving it up to the coin toss, the Joker knew that Dent didn't care about anyone's lives anymore, meaning he had sunk to the Joker's level.

    HOPE THIS HELPS!!

  4. The Joker is a crazy dude that likes to watch the world burn. He even referred to himself as an "agent of chaos". He gave Harvey a chance because he wanted to bring Harvey down to his level and have Gotham see there 'White Knight' fall.
