Why did the mail man leave some packages for me in a white crate? What am I supposed to do with this crate/box

This crate says "United States Postal Service" on it, and I presume I'm supposed to give it back to them?

I don't feel like going to the post office until it's convenient for me, which is usually never.

I didn't ask for this thing, so why did they give it to me?

  1. Leave it near your mailbox.  He'll pick it up

  2. They are right. He left it for your convenience. Leave it at your mailbox.

  3. DUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  4. could it have been because you had a lot of mail? just take your mail out of it and leave it near your mail box....

  5. The mail man will pick it up. It is US Postal Property.

  6. I deliver mail. We will occasionally do this for the customer if the package is large or if there is a lot a mail... etc. We do it so it is easier for you to take your mail or package into your home. To return it just leave it by your mail box and he will pick it up as everyone has already said.

  7. Just put it on your mailbox for pete's sakes!
