Judaism- Hebrew & Aramaic. Hebrew got revived but Aramaic's nearly dead.

Christianity- Aramaic and Koin Greek

Buddhism- Pali and Sanskrit

Hinduism- Sanskrit.

Islam- Arabic

All these have dead or near-dead languages, whereas Arabic is still a living language spoken by hundreds of millions of people.

Doesn't it bother follows of other religions that few followers can even speak the dead language their religion's written in?

  1. Dear

So that the Religious teachings could be changed and manipulated to their convenience.

As the Holy Prophet of islam is the Seal and last of Prophets, God Almighty Allah has taken the responsibility to preserve the Holy Book Quran by Himself as said in Holy quran..

15:9. We have, without doubt, sent down the Message; and We will assuredly guard it (from corruption).

    Allah says the Truth.

  2. The arabic that the Koran is written in is a very academic version of the language that no one actually speaks. Every arabic speaking country has it's own dialect. I can speak a little bit of arabic, but I was taught by someone from Syria, I tried to have a conversion with someone from Morocco, and it was very difficult.

  3. This is simply no true, for Judaism and Christianity at least.

Modern Aramaic is still spoken by a few in the middle east, although pressures of Islam had many change their primary language to Arabic over the centuries.  There were Aramaic-speaking Jews who traveled to Israel when it was reestablished as a nation after WWII.

Saying that Koin Greek died out is like saying that Old English died out.

It didn't die out, it developed over the centuries into modern greek, the same way Old English developed into modern English

  4. what do you think is the original language of Christians  Jesus was a Jew  but Christians  have come  from all continents.  religion  should not be  held  by one language.

what is the point of keeping the quran in a language  even Arabic speakers  do not understand.

  5. becuse it's right way, it's clear like a sun

  6. No, it doesn't bother me.

  7. Pali is still spoken regularly in the Theravadin Buddhist community.  It's a liturgical language much like Latin is/was to Catholicism. However, some Dhamma talks provided by Thai and Burmese monks still use productive Pali (original sentence/thought formation in that language).

ADD--some versions of liturgical chants change from monastery to monastery, temple to temple.  So what is used in this temple in Australia is not the same as that used over here in Burma, and there are other versions used in the United States.  The conclusion is that to some extent, Pali is still a productive language in that respect: most of these liturgies are not that old, having been created only within the last few years or decades.

  8. You are not aware that the so called original Arabic has even changed, And that ONLY those trained few in the so called "ministry" knows the original language?

  9. that why we "now" have differences . see my point one GOD ,different religions, different views only one preserved you figure it up

    thanks for the info

most of the answer above is guessing , illusions and defamed informations iam Egyptian muslim and my mother tongue is Arabic language first of all an illiterate person (who cant read nor write)can understand 60% of the quran

educated egyptian can understand 90% of the quran. the changes done by youth to arabic language is much less than the changes done to the english language and most of the news, programs , books and plays in egypt and most arab countries are written in the arabic language .

what will surprise you is  that  if we collect all the

books,programs,cds,...of quran all around the world and burn ,destroy and delete them we will be able to bring the book exactly the same without a word change thats because it is the word of GOD which promised to be preserved as quran is memorized by millions mostly are non arabs!

quran is the preserved miracle of the final message islam

    BR

    basem

  10. On the contrary. Pali & Sanskrit are spoken by Buddhists all over the world. Often-times the original word has no modern equivalent.

Sanskrit is also used by hundreds of millions of Hindus for the above reason.

The same is true for Jewish people using Hebrew.

  11. It bothers me that you posted some false information.  It should bother Muslims that allah has problems with all the languages he created except one that less than 1% of the world can actually understand.  I guess you think Classical Arabic is the same as Fusha or colloquial and that ALL the Arabic tribes and countries can understand each other, lol.  At least God knows ALL languages.
