Spirit is an 8-year-old himalayan. Yesterday, my brother tried to hand-feed Spirit, and Spirit loped over to the hand with the food and bit my brother's fingertip (it bled).

He had never bitten anyone before, only nibbled. When I checked on him, he was eating normally and even let me pet him. He was the same this morning.

Any idea what happned?

  1. They can do that if startled or feel you're invading their space.

The will DEFINITELY do that if they haven't been fixed.

  2. i think he had a sense of something from ur bros hand

  3. your bro migt of been handeling something eirlie that smelt lie food or the rabbit couldve  mistaken hes fitim for food as he was hand feeding him or it culdve been because the rabbit was upset or tempermental for somereason

or he couldve make sudden move ment or sound that frightened the rabbit or made it jump

  4. Spirit might have been upset over something, or it could simply have been that he mistook one of your brother's fingers for the food. Rabbits cannot see the food that is directly under their mouths; I suspect it may have been a case of mistaken identity, that's all. :o)

  5. cause he was mad i think or jealous
